❝The Ad-Lib Club∗

Behind the scenes

Pattie Boyd Hello there, I'm Fritzi - the mastermind behind this groovy webring & clique.

I'm old enough to remember a time when everyone would code their own websites and add so many blinkies. On the other hand I'm too young to have seen The Beatles live in concert.

I do love the 50s and 60s and I'm a baby Beatnik. Graphic design and the small web are my passion. I also play the guitar. And sometimes I play the fool.

If I had a time machine, I'd go back and see The Beatles at the Star-Club in Hamburg in '62. Or Shea Stadium '65... but only with a backstage pass.

GROOVY See Fritzi do the Watusi!

I'd like to take the opportunity to plug my other websites, folks! My collection of everything nice, some wondrous fantasy and my fanlisting for John & Paul. I occasionally post on status.cafe, too.

Site info

This website is hosted on Neocities, managed with webri.ng and uses a bunch of boss JavaScript to make your visit even more groovy - all cobbled and stitched together by me except for the lightbox script.

Everything is hand coded in CotEditor, up to semantic HTML5 & CSS3 standard with the help of W3Schools and mdn_. The layout is fully responsive and mobile-friendly.

Freeformatter is my trusty tool to make everything truly beautiful in case someone takes a look at my source code. For all HTML entities and symbols I refer to (◕⏝◕).

The background image is inspired by Giovanni Pintori's design for the Olivetti Studio 44 handbook. The SVGs that I use for the text clique are from tabler and modified by me. The SVGs for the webring I made myself.

And yes, I use a John Lennon, Paul McCartney and a George Harrison handwriting font as well as the Bootle font. Oh, and of course the groovy Magical Mystery Tour font is rolling up as well. It's been A Hard Day's Night, folks! There's also the DekoDisplay font & Kalligraphia. Honourably mentioned: this gorgeous Guyon Gazebo font and the jazzy Stereofidelic one. Everything else can be found on Google Fonts.

The website button was made with Pixilart and my beloved ancient touch pen.

The Ad-Lib Club is listed at LinkLane.Net.
